Can a Cold War of Aggressive Thoughts Lead to the Development of Cancer?

What happens when we fill our brain with thoughts of aggressions? What happens to our body? If we assume everything is energy, then where does this energy go to?

Our thoughts are energy forms. We irradiate this, and when we are aggressive it can be perceived. Not only through our deeds, but you can feel it in an aggressive person. These energies not only radiate to without, but they also radiate to within, and they influence our whole cell state, our body cells absorb this. Our nerves absorb it. And it leads to the fact that, in the true sense of the word, a war takes place in the organs. One organ fights against the other, the nerves direct this aggressive behaviour, and we get sick.

We could say that poisonous substances literally gain access to our nervous system through this behaviour in our world of thoughts.

These warlike thoughts lead to a discharge in the nervous system and the nerves secrete poisonous substances in the body. In the book, “Cause and Development of All Illness,” a mighty revelation of Christ given in 1986 through Gabriele, the prophetess and messenger of God for our time, Christ points very unmistakeably to this fact. He says here: Highly tensed nerves secrete toxins which, depending on the vibration of the body of an individual, either detrimentally affect susceptible organs or poison the whole body. Through the secretion of neurotoxins, a so-called nerve fever can develop, which, via the central nervous system, sets all the nerves in vibration, so that the entire organism is heated up, that is, it becomes overheated.

In a fight, our whole disposition becomes overheated with these aggressive thoughts. This uproar is felt even in the cells, and we say that an inflammation develops or an illness is inflamed. Poisonous substances are secreted via the nervous system and released into the body.

So, couldn’t we say that war begins first in our thoughts? Often it begins with our desires, with our cravings, with our passions.  Then, when we don’t get what we wanted, aggressions start to develop. Feelings of hatred, envy and hostility follow, and all of this goes into our body. First and foremost, we are leading a war against ourselves and this war makes us hard. This hardness goes into our cell structure that is then only attuned to negativity. A lack of harmony develops and in our body, little energy flows.

Then this hardness takes over more or less. For the deadening of our sensations is a requisite condition not only for leading war, but also for developing coldness both in our cells and in our heart. With the proliferation of our covetness: “I have to have that” or “I demand this or that from my neighbour,” this is then manifested in a malignant growth of our cell state, in cancer, and cancer expresses itself in a cold growth. The cancer infiltrates the body, drawing it into a bottomless pit. Since cancer is sometimes treated by warming the cells, it can take this coldness from the cells, this coldness, that rules us, and is the warlike aspect in us.

The cold war in us then escalates at some point in time, and then it is no longer a cold war, but a cancer that destroys our whole life. So we can say that we go from a cold war into a cold cancer.

More about the significance of the nervous system in the development of illnesses and blows of fate can be found in the book: “Cause and Development of All Illness – What the Person Sows, He Will Reap.” A must reading for those who would like to know how a complete healing takes place through the Spirit via the nervous system and the spirit consciousness in each cell of the body.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

$12.72

George Lucas continues his most popular franchise’s legacy with Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a computer-animated 3-D film that takes place between Star Wars: Episode II and III. The first-ever animated feature from Lucasfilm Animation, this action-packed space adventure follows the heroic Jedi Knights as they attempt to maintain order and restore peace during a time of monumental galactic strife. The Clone Wars have engulfed the galaxy in chaos, and as the dreaded droid army of the Separatists wipes out everything in its path, the future of the Galactic Republic becomes increasingly uncertain. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano embark on a pivotal mission that pits them directly against the dreaded Jabba the Hutt and his criminal minions while Count Dooku enlists the aid of Asajj Ventress and the rest of his sinister agents in ensuring that the young Jedi fails in his noble mission. Back on the front lines of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda attempt to fend off the forces of the dark side with the assistance of a massive clone army. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi THUNDERBIRDS. While the voices of actors such as Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christiansen, and Frank Oz are missed, their successors handle their mantles well, confidently leading the heroes in fierce battles and tense chases. Though diehards of the original STAR WARS trilogy may shrug their shoulders at the CGI wizardy, young fans will find much to enjoy in this action-packed movie, which promises to be continued in a regular Cartoon Network TV series.

Little Wars

$11.18

After 2003′s classically-inspired tone poem The Marionette and the Music Box and the spacy Fripp & Eno soundscapes of 2006′s dual EPs Circles and The White Ox, Unwed Sailor return to their post-rock roots with Little Wars. Based in part on songs originally mooted for a vinyl EP back in 2002, expanded with new material and extensive overdubbing of the original tracks, Little Wars is the most straightforward Unwed Sailor release in some time. These nine songs are complex but melodic instrumental post-rock with little of the flashily technical but emotionally empty time signature shifts and fleet-fingered soloing of math rock, or the fondness for epic structures and high-decibel explosions of acts like Mono or Godspeed You Black Emperor!. To be honest, if frontman/sole constant Johnathon Ford ever decided to hire a singer and lyricist, songs like the jangly “Echo Roads” and the unexpectedly delicate “Lonely Bulls” already have enough of a basic verse-chorus structure that Little Wars could be used as is for the backing tracks for an entirely solid indie rock album. Some fans might consider Little Wars a step back for a band that’s had a healthy experimental streak over the course of its ten year history, but it has a feeling of retrenchment about it, as if Ford is clearing the decks in preparation for a full-scale change in sound or direction. ~ Stewart Mason, Rovi

The Wars of the Roses

$37.38

The Wars of the Roses (1455-85) were a major turning point in English history. But the underlying causes for the successive upheavals have been hotly contested by historians ever since. In this original and stimulating new synthesis, distinguished historian Michael Hicks examines the difficult economic, military, and financial crises and explains, for the first time, the real reasons why the Wars of the Roses began, why they kept recurring, and why, eventually, they ceased. Alongside fresh assessments of key personalities, Hicks sheds new light on the significance of the involvement of the people in politics, the intervention of foreign powers in English affairs, and a fifteenth-century credit crunch. Combining a meticulous dissection of competing dynamics with a clear account of the course of events, this is a definitive and indispensable history of a compelling, complex period.

The Clone Wars

$3.48

Across the galaxy, the Clone Wars are raging. The Separatists, led by Count Dooku, the onetime Jedi and now secret Sith Lord, continue to press forward, and more and more worlds are either falling, or seceding and joining the cause. Under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, the Republic heroically battles on, championed by its huge army of cloned soldiers and their Jedi generals. Anakin Skywalker, believed by some to be the prophesied "Chosen One" destined to bring balance to the Force, is now a Jedi Knight under the tutelage of his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Death is a constant possibility-and his chances of survival aren’t improved by the unexpected arrival of an apprentice: Ahsoka, a brash, inexperienced fourteen-year-old Padawan apprenticed to Anakin. But there’s no time for Anakin to question his latest orders: He and Obi-Wan have been assigned a new mission, and failure is not an option. Jabba the Hutt’s precious infant son has been kidnapped, and when the frantic parent applies to the Jedi for help, it falls to Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and their clone troops to track down the evidence and retrieve the missing Huttlet. And more is at stake: For a grateful Jabba just might allow the Republic access to the Hutt-controlled space lanes that the Grand Army desperately needs in order to beat the Separatists into submission. But the Republic is not the only power that craves access to those space lanes. Count Dooku, determined to win the prize for the Separatists, has set a trap for the Jedi. When they find the Huttlet, they will also find Dooku’s master assassin, Asajj Ventress, and countless legions of battle droids waiting to spring a trap. The blazing new animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes place in the years preceding Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and sets the stage for the groundbreaking TV series. Both contain all original material-direct from the brilliant imagination of legendary "Star Wars" creator George Lucas. And these exciting new adventures and characters are being brought to life in book form by none other than "#"1 New York Times bestselling Star Wars author Karen Traviss.

This particular book is a collaboration focused on Lego Star Wars.More info: Lego Star Wars is a Lego theme that incorporates the Star Wars saga. The first Lego Star Wars, released in 1999, included model 7140, the first Lego X-Wing. Star Wars was the first intellectual property to be licensed in Lego Group history. The first few sets based on the original trilogy were released in 1999, coinciding with the release of The Phantom Menace. Sets based on the prequel trilogy (Episodes I to III) of Star Wars would follow, starting with Episode I. As each new film in the prequel trilogy neared its release date, Lego issued new models of ships and scenes in those films, as well as additional sets from the original trilogy. Originally it was only licensed from 1999-2008, but the Lego Group recently extended the license with Lucasfilm Ltd. to 2011. However this is subject to change. The brand has spawned three major video game releases, developed by Traveller’s Tales. Lego has produced models which coincided with The Clone Wars, which was released early in 2009.

Turf Wars

$25

For most bills in American legislatures, the issue of turf—or which committee has jurisdiction over a bill—can make all the difference. Turf governs the flow and fate of all legislation. In this innovative study, David C. King explains how jurisdictional areas for committees are created and changed in Congress. Political scientists have long maintained that jurisdictions are relatively static, changing only at times of dramatic reforms. Not so, says King. Combining quantitative evidence with interviews and case studies, he shows how on-going turf wars make jurisdictions fluid. According to King, jurisdictional change stems both from legislators seeking electoral advantage and from nonpartisan House parliamentarians referring ambiguous bills to committees with the expertise to handle the issues. King brilliantly dissects the politics of turf grabbing and at the same time shows how parliamentarians have become institutional guardians of the legislative process. Original and insightful, Turf Wars will be valuable to those interested in congressional studies and American politics more generally.

The Shakespeare Wars

$13.99

“[Ron Rosenbaum] is one of the most original journalists and writers of our time.” –David Remnick In The Shakespeare Wars , Ron Rosenbaum gives readers an unforgettable way of rethinking the greatest works of the human imagination. As he did in his groundbreaking Explaining Hitler, he shakes up much that we thought we understood about a vital subject and renews our sense of excitement and urgency. He gives us a Shakespeare book like no other. Rather than raking over worn-out fragments of biography, Rosenbaum focuses on cutting-edge controversies about the true source of Shakespeare’s enchantment and illumination–the astonishing language itself. How best to unlock the secrets of its spell? With quicksilver wit and provocative insight, Rosenbaum takes readers into the midst of fierce battles among the most brilliant Shakespearean scholars and directors over just how to delve deeper into the Shakespearean experience–deeper into the mind of Shakespeare. Was Shakespeare the one-draft wonder of Shakespeare in Love ? Or was he rather–as an embattled faction of textual scholars now argues–a different kind of writer entirely: a conscientious reviser of his greatest plays? Must we then revise our way of reading, staging, and interpreting such works as Hamlet and King Lear ? Rosenbaum pursues key partisans in these debates from the high tables of Oxford to a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in a strip mall in the Deep South. He makes ostensibly arcane textual scholarship intensely seductive–and sometimes even explicitly sexual. At an academic “Pleasure Seminar” in Bermuda, for instance, he examines one scholar’s quest to find an orgasm in Romeo and Juliet. Rosenbaum shows us great directors as Shakespearean scholars in their own right: We hear Peter Brook–perhaps the most influential Shakespearean director of the past century–disclose his quest for a “secret play” hidden within the Bard’s comedies and dramas. We listen to Sir Peter Hall, founder of the Royal Shakespeare Company, as he launches into an impassioned, table-pounding fury while discussing how the means of unleashing the full intensity of Shakespeare’s language has been lost–and how to restore it. Rosenbaum’s hilarious inside account of “the Great Shakespeare ‘Funeral Elegy’ Fiasco,” a man-versus-computer clash, illustrates the iconic struggle to define what is and isn’t “Shakespearean.” And he demonstrates the way Shakespearean scholars such as Harold Bloom can become great Shakespearean characters in their own right. The Shakespeare Wars offers a thrilling opportunity to engage with Shakespeare’s work at its deepest levels. Like Explaining Hitler, this book is destined to revolutionize the way we think about one of the overwhelming obsessions of our time. From the Hardcover edition.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

$13.58

The score for the video game Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire represents the first authorized music from George Lucas’ interstellar franchise written by a composer other than John Williams. Joel McNeely, who succeeded Williams for the television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, was the logical choice here as well. Employing signature themes and motifs from Williams’ original Star Wars score — arguably the most beloved and influential movie music of the late 20th century — McNeely vividly captures the power and majesty one expects from the series, thanks in large part to the epic performance of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. To McNeely’s credit, he also deviates sharply from Williams’ template, contributing dissonant, intensely rhythmic passages (most notably “Xizor’s Theme”) without precedent in the Star Wars canon. Purists may blanch, but more adventurous listeners will appreciate the divergences from formula. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

The Making of Star Wars (TM): The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film

$19.4

More than thirty years ago, filmmaker George Lucas realized a longtime dream, creating a swashbuckling sf saga inspired by vintage Flash Gordon serials, classic American westerns, the epic cinema of Japanese auteur Akira Kurosawa, and mythological heroes. Its original title: The Star Wars. The rest is history-and how it was made is a story as entertaining and exciting as the movie that has enthralled millions for the past three decades. Using his unprecedented access to the Lucasfilm Archives and its trove of never-before-published "lost" interviews, photos, production notes, factoids, and anecdotes, Star Wars scholar J. W. Rinzler hurtles readers back in time for an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the nearly decade-long quest of George Lucas and his key collaborators to make the "little" movie that became a phenomenon. For the first time, it’s all here: – the evolution of the now-classic story and characters-including "Annikin Starkiller" and "a huge green-skinned monster with no nose and large gills" named Han Solo – excerpts from George Lucas’s numerous, ever-morphing script drafts – the birth of Industrial Light & Magic, the special-effects company that revolutionized Hollywood filmmaking – the grueling, nearly catastrophic location shoot in Tunisia and the following breakneck dash at Elstree Studios in London – the intensive auditions that won the cast members their roles-and made them legends – the who’s who of young 1970s film rebels who pitched in to help-including Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, and Brian DePalma But perhaps most exciting, and rarest of all, are the first interviews conducted before and during production and immediately after the release of Star Wars-in which George Lucas, the film’s stars, composer John Williams, effects masters Dennis Muren, Richard Edlund, and John Dykstra, Phil Tippett, Rick Baker, legendary production designer John Barry, and a host of others share their fascinating tales from the trenches and candid opinions of the movie that would ultimately change their lives. No matter where you stand in the spectrum of this thirty-year phenomenon, The Making of Star Wars stands as a crucial document-rich in fascination and revelation-of a genuine cinematic and cultural touchstone.

Pope Pius V. was a chief instigator and promoter of the third religious war in France. He had furnished both troops and funds for its prosecution. The spirit in which he desired to see it conducted appears from the instructions issued to his soldiers, that no quarter should be given to the enemy. After the battle of Jarnac, he wrote thus to the French King: — " If your Majesty continue to pursue openly and ardently the enemies of the Catholic religion, even to their extermination, be assured the Divine succour will not be wanting. It is only by the entire destruction of the heretics that you can restore its ancient worship to your noble realm." Hearing that negotiations for peace were opened, his Holiness wrote to Charles, warning him against all advisers of a peace as deceivers of his Majesty; PHILIP OF SPAIN. ] 43 as men who, under the false pretext of the general good, forgot at once their faith and their loyalty. The Secret History of Star Wars

$36.32

Star Wars is one of the most important cultural phenomena of the Western world. The tale of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker has become modern myth, an epic tragedy of the corruption of a young man in love into darkness, the rise of evil, and the power of good triumphing in the end. But it didnt start out that way. In this thorough account of one of cinemas most lasting works, Michael Kaminski presents the true history of how Star Wars was written, from its beginnings as a science fiction fairy tale to its development over three decades into the epic we now know, chronicling the methods, techniques, thought processes, and struggles of its creator. For this unauthorized account, he has pored through over four hundred sources, from interviews to original scripts, to track how the most powerful modern epic in the world was created, expanded, and finalized into the tale an entire generation has grown up with.

Wars Against Napoleon Debunking The Myth Of The Napoleonic Wars

$6.99

Popular and scholarly history presents a one-dimensional image of Napoleon as an inveterate instigator of war who repeatedly sought large-scale military conquests. General Franceschi and Ben Weider dismantle this false conclusion in The Wars Against Napoleon a brilliantly written and researched study that turns our understanding of the French emperor on its head.Avoiding the simplistic clichés and rudimentary caricatures many historians use when discussing Napoleon Franceschi and Weider argue persuasively that the caricature of the megalomaniac conqueror who bled Europe white to satisfy his delirious ambitions and insatiable love for war is groundless. By carefully scrutinizing the facts of the period and scrupulously avoiding the sometimes confusing cause and effect of major historical events they paint a compelling portrait of a fundamentally pacifist Napoleon one completely at odds with modern scholarly thought. This rigorous intellectual presentation is based upon three principal themes. The first explains how an unavoidable belligerent situation existed after the French Revolution of 1789. The new France inherited by Napoleon was faced with the implacable hatred of reactionary European monarchies determined to restore the ancient regime. All-out war was therefore inevitable unless France renounced the modern world to which it had just painfully given birth. The second theme emphasizes Napoleon’s determined efforts ("bordering on an obsession " argue the authors) to avoid this inevitable conflict. The political strategy of the Consulate and the Empire was based on the intangible principle of preventing or avoiding these wars not on conquering territory. Finally the authors examine conflict by conflict the evidence that Napoleon never declared war. As he later explained at Saint Helena it was he who was always attacked not the other way around. His adversaries pressured and even forced the Emperor to employ his unequalled military genius. After each of his memorable victories Napoleon offered concessions often extravagant ones to the defeated enemy for the sole purpose of avoiding another war. Lavishly illustrated persuasively argued and carefully illustrated with original maps and battle diagrams The Wars Against Napoleon presents a courageous and uniquely accurate historical idea that will surely arouse vigorous debate within the international historical community.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]

$9.57

The familiar fanfare is there, in all of its swaggering-brass glory, though it seems a little less expansive in the actual depth of its instrumentation. This may be an artifact of the digital age, however — that fabled, oft-mentioned “transparency.” Regardless, Star Wars fans will thrill at the sound of it. What’s open to question is whether or not long-term fans will be as overjoyed with the remainder of the score. Composer John Williams continues to use his Boston Pops experience to good advantage, turning in a score that echoes the music and themes for the original trilogy of films (particularly the brooding theme for Darth Vader) while charting a direction for the new film. The multi-themed “Duel of the Fates”, in particular, uses the complete dynamic range of the digital studio for an effective punch. Of course, “new” is a relative term when it comes to film music; Williams’ use of dramatic dissonance and discordance is somewhat innovative for the Star Wars series, as are the bravura choral passages, the score deliberately references the great film composers of the ’30s and ’40s. Just as George Lucas intended his movie to reflect an earlier time in the life of his universe, Williams’ music follows suit, with choral passages that bring to mind both Prokofiev and Carl Orff (insofar as the choral material brings to mind Orff’s interpretation of the Carmina Burana). The Episode I score bears more consideration than the trio of earlier scores, and it is a small regret that more material was not included (thus making this a two-CD set that would fit nicely with the special edition releases of the originally trilogy scores.) The overall development of Williams’ musical palette bodes well for the greater emotional requirements of Episode II. ~ Steven McDonald, Rovi

Star Wars: The Corellian Edition

$11.17

Die-hard fans of the Star Wars hexalogy are quite familiar with the epic soundtracks by John Williams and are likely to own the albums that interest them. So it’s hard to imagine why Sony has issued Star Wars: The Corellian Edition as a single disc that offers short excerpts from each of the six film scores, though it can hardly be said to be a greatest-hits collection in the usual sense. A promotional sticker advertises the contents as, “The Most Popular Star Wars Themes from All Six Episodes on One CD!” But this is misleading, since the famous doom-laden motive for Darth Vader from Episode IV is missing, as well as the well-known “Princess Leia’s Theme” and the Cantina Band music (which actually reached No. 72 on Billboard’s Top 100 in 1977), so this CD falls short of its stated aim. The popular “Main Title” fanfare is universally known and is included here, as well as the memorable “End Title” music, but the remaining action sequences and atmospheric scenes are not as recognizable (except to those who have seen all the movies several times) and are not necessarily the best parts of their respective scores. The original performances by the London Symphony Orchestra have been enhanced with DSD remastering, and they are identical to the tracks that appear on the 2004 editions of the soundtracks. So this disc may serve as a sampler to whet casual listeners’ appetites for the full CDs, but chances are good that anyone who is already a Star Wars buff will not need this teaser, except perhaps as a collectible. ~ Blair Sanderson, Rovi

Cawkwell’s views are at many points original: in particular, his explanation of how and why the Persian invasion of Greece failed challenges the prevailing orthodoxy, as does his view of the importance of Persia in Greek affairs for the two decades after the King’s Peace. Persia, he concludes, was destroyed by Macedonian military might but moral decline had no part in it; the Macedonians who had subjected Greece were too good an army, but their victory was not easy.

Farscape – The Peacekeeper Wars

$9.56

Rated: NRSynopsis: The continuation and conclusion of the popular FARSCAPE series, broadcast on the Sci-Fi Channel from 1999 to 2004, THE PEACEKEEPER WARS picks up where the series left off. John Crighton and Aeryn Sun have decided to marry, but are immediately blown to pieces by an alien ship at the close of the ceremony. Luckily, Rygel picks up the pieces and reassembles the couple; but now Rygel is the one carrying their child. Elsewhere, all-out war is declared between the Peacekeepers and the Scarrans, and although Crighton and Aeryn just want to get married and live happily ever after, half-breed Peacekeeper Scorpius and Scarran Emperor Staleek are still covetous of Crighton’s wormhole knowledge. They hope to use it as a weapon, and as the battles rage on, Crighton becomes the determining factor of the war’s outcome. Tying up all the loose ends of the series, this feature provides a satisfactory conclusion for even the most ardent fan, with all of the original cast present, and a recreation of the look and feel of the show.

Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen)

$59.47

One of the most exhilarating and influential trilogies in the history of motion pictures, George Lucas’s sci-fi spectacular continues to capture the hearts and minds of individuals throughout the world. This release contains the STAR WARS trilogy (episodes IV-VI) in one glorious package.First up is STAR WARS; George Lucas’s stunning sci-fi masterpiece, and arguably one of the most inventive and entertaining films ever made. As the adventure begins, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), an impulsive but goodhearted young man who lives on the dusty planet of Tatooine with his aunt and uncle, longs for the exciting life of a Rebel soldier. The Rebels, led by the headstrong Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), are fighting against the evil Empire, which has set about destroying planets inhabited by innocent citizens with the Death Star, a fearsome planetlike craft commanded by Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and the eternally frightful Darth Vader (David Prowse, with the voice of James Earl Jones). When Luke’s aunt and uncle are murdered by the Empire’s imperial stormtroopers and he mysteriously finds a distress message from Princess Leia in one of his androids, R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), he must set out to find Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness), a mysterious old hermit with incredible powers. On his journey, Luke is aided by the roguish, sarcastic mercenary Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his towering furry sidekick Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) as they run into a host of perilous situations while trying to rescue the princess–and the entire galaxy. Considered the most morally and emotionally complex of the original Star Wars trilogy, THE EMPIRE STRIKE BACK continues creator George Lucas’s epic saga where STAR WARS left off. The Rebel Forces–which include young adventurer Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), rogue pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and the beautiful but seemingly humorless Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher)–have been successful in destroying the Evil Empire’s Death Star. However, the Empire’s top commander, the terrifying Lord Darth Vader (played by David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones), is scanning the galaxy for the Rebels’ secret location. After a visually stunning showdown on the ice planet Hoth, the Rebels are forced to flee, and Luke separates from Han and Leia. Masterful storytelling weaves multiple, archetypal plotlines that pit Vader against Han and Leia as he desperately attempts to capture Luke for political–and, secretly, personal–reasons. Luke, meanwhile, finds himself under the tutelage of the tiny but powerful old Jedi Master Yoda, who teaches him the ways of the Force and warns the impatient but talented student against the threat of the Dark Side. Greek tragedy meets a philosophical hero’s journey in EMPIRE, a remarkable sci-fi epic in which the performances are as powerful as the spectacular special effects. The third and final chapter in the wondrous STAR WARS saga is RETURN OF THE JEDI. Luke (Mark Hamill) must save Han Solo (Harrison Ford) from the

Star Wars: Darksaber

$7.99

Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, cloaked by the Force and riding with the hostile Sand People, have returned to the dunes of the desert planet Tatooine in hopes of finding what Luke so desperately seeks: contact with Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Luke is hoping the old Jedi Knight’s spirit will tell him how to help his  love, Callista, regain her lost ability to use the Force.  Tormented and haunted, Luke cannot rest until Callista is a Jedi in the fullest sense, for only then will the link between their minds and souls be restored. Yet brewing on Tatooine is news that will shake Luke and Han and  threaten everything they value. The disturbing piece of information is that the evil Hutts, criminal warlords of the galaxy, are building a secret superweapon: a reconstruction of the original Death Star, to be named Darksaber. This planet-crushing power will be in the ruthless hands of Durga the Hutt — a creature without conscience or mercy. But there is worse news yet: the Empire lives. The beautiful Admiral Daala, still very much alive and more driven than ever to destroy the Jedi, has joined forces with the defeated Pellaeon, former second in command to Grand Admiral Thrawn. Together they are marshaling Imperial forces to wipe out the New Republic. Now, as Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Artoo and Threepio regroup to face these threats, they are joined by new Jedi Knights and Callista. Together they must fight on two fronts, outshooting and outsmarting the most formidable enemies in the galaxy. In Darksaber the Jedi are heading for the ultimate test of their power–a test in which all the temptations of the dark side beckon.  And Luke Skywalker must draw upon his innermost resources to fight for a world in which he can not only live, but dare to love. Star Wars Trilogy (Fullscreen)

$59.48

Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox finally unleash the beloved original Star Wars trilogy on DVD in this packed box set sure to heat up retailers’ shelves and home systems everywhere. All three films have been remastered in their Special Edition forms and have been given a face-lift for the digital age with literally the most stunning picture and sound quality the films have ever seen. Colors are incredibly vivid, while the picture has never looked as sharp as it does now. Since George Lucas is a firm believer in letting artists control how the public sees their work, sadly there isn’t any trace of the original versions on the new prints (so Greedo still shoots first, though it’s not as jarring as the Special Edition made it out to be). Mixed with Ben Burtt’s new sound mix, the overall presentation is stunning and truly does justice to the films. Extra effects have been added as well, with a new Jabba to replace the initial CG one cut into A New Hope, and yes, that is Hayden Christensen added into the end of Jedi. Released exclusively as a collection in two separate editions, this set includes the full-screen versions (the more recommended widescreen set is also available) and features anamorphic transfers with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX tracks. Menu design is particularly stellar, with three optional ones chosen at random for all the movie discs that can also be chosen by entering Menu, 2, or 12 on your remote during the Warning screen. Commentaries can be found on each movie, with everyone from George Lucas and Carrie Fisher to Empire’s director, Irvin Kershner, and sound designer, Ben Burtt, sounding off. Burtt actually is a joy to listen to as he takes the viewer through his process of recording these iconic sounds, though the main prize goes to Kershner, who astounds with his grasp of the characters and the film itself. If Empire is thought to be the best-made film out of the trilogy, you can bet that he’s the main reason for it.Over ten hours of extras are included on the bonus disc, with newly created featurettes and archival material spanning the entire history of the original saga. The 151-minute extended cut of the documentary Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy is easily the most anticipated, and boy, it does not disappoint! Featuring countless interviews with cast and crew along with rare behind-the-scenes footage from the first three films, the story is told through time as Lucas battled to remain in control of the productions despite lawsuits and plenty of other obstacles that will come as quite a surprise to the casual viewer. You’ll be glued to the screen, whether it’s from glimpses of deleted scenes not included in the rest of the disc or just the sheer amount of mind-blowing behind-the-scenes footage (such as Peter Mayhew’s voice saying Chewie lines, or how about David Prowse doing Vader’s voice with a Scottish accent?). Three other featurettes make their debut in the set as well, including The Birth of the Li th

West Point Atlas for the Wars of Napoleon

$23.23

The Wars of Napoleon takes the reader from the early years of Napoleon Bonaparte’s military career, to his meteoric rise to power, to the Emperor’s defeat at Waterloo. Here is a brilliant analysis of Napoleon’s military strengths and weaknesses, as well as his many opponents’ failures in the face of battle. The narrative provides insight into the technology, tactics, logistics, strategy, and outstanding generalship that created an empire stretching from the Atlantic coast to the Russian Steppes, from the North Sea to the Mediterranean. And it offers a penetrating examination of the military and political mistakes that led to Napoleon’s forced abdication and final exile to the island of St. Helena. Complementing this text is a beautiful large-format full-color campaign atlas. These original maps not only highlight Napoleon’s key military battles, but also provide dates, unit numbers, troop deployments, and movements of opposing forces, as well as critical geographical information. This atlas is designed to be used either alone or with the text of The Wars of Napoleon.
